On behalf of the Better Buildings Partnership, we are thrilled to invite you to our in-person symposium on circular economy in commercial office fit-outs. This event will bring together leaders across the industry to discuss opportunities and overcoming barriers to implement circular economy solutions in commercial property.
The symposium will provide the opportunity to hear case studies from expert speakers and engage in workshops with sector leads. Insights will be used to develop a circular economy toolkit to apply to your own projects and inform GBCA’s Green Star Fit-outs tool.
We are keen for a broad range of professionals to join us, representing designers, architects, fit-out professionals, tenants, and landlords. Together we can work towards a more circular future.

About this event:
Join us for an industry symposium exploring the shift towards designing and building circular office fit-outs, supported by the Green Building Council Australia (GBCA).
Australian businesses and government are increasingly recognising the need to design out waste, keep value in products and assets and regenerate nature. To support and accelerate this transition, it is critical that we work with key stakeholders to co-design the types of tools and interventions needed to make it happen.
The symposium will be a collaborative effort, facilitated by experts in interior design and circular economy. Through a series of talks and breakout sessions, the symposium will:
· Present inspiring circular stories, already driving change in fit-out design,
· Explore opportunities, barriers and risks in the current system and processes, and
· Map stakeholders and intervention points that can help shift the dial towards more circular outcomes.
We aim to connect professionals and learn from your insights on existing challenges of implementing circular principles in commercial office fit-outs. This symposium builds on last year’s ‘Fit-out Design Industry Symposium’, which included the integration of circular economy principles within the fit-out process to develop a suite of realistic and achievable up stream interventions to support the commercial property sector in improving resource recovery and waste avoidance.
