City to Bay 2024 - Pembroke School Team
Event description
Do you want to participate in the Lumary City to Bay on Sunday 15 September to raise money for the charity CanTeen?
We are seeking members of the Pembroke community to join the Pembroke School Team to undertake the Lumary City to Bay Fun Run to raise money for the Charity CanTeen. Pembroke has participated in this event since 2003, with this year marking our 21st!
Our community’s involvement in this event was initiated due to one of our boarders, Anna Bowman, being diagnosed with cancer just as she entered boarding in Year 10. CanTeen provided Anna and her family crucial support to help them deal with the impact of this terrible disease. The organisation has also assisted many other Pembroke students and their families over the years.
Last year, the Pembroke team had 157 members comprising of boarders, day students, staff, parents, old scholars, and friends. Together we raised an amazing $31,497 for CanTeen, becoming the highest fundraising team undertaking the fun run.
These funds contributed to a large proportion of Canteen’s overall total. To put this into perspective this money assisted 544 of the young people they support to access life-changing 24/7 assistance through Canteen Connect: an online community to access necessary counselling.
If you would like to be part of this worthwhile and fun event, I would really encourage you to sign up.
