CLARENCE JAZZ FESTIVAL 2025 BIG DAY AT THE PARK

Bring the whole family along for the biggest day of the festival - featuring 12 hours of live music across a whopping four festival stages!

Join us in the stunning Clarence Jazz Festival Hub for a dazzling and diverse line up of local, interstate and international jazz, mouth watering local food and beverages and an epic kids program including outdoor games, face painting, craft and more!

LINE UP

LAWN STAGE

11.30am: Superb Blue Wrens Kick your Saturday off the right way with the Huon Valley’s finest, playing a mix of blues and jazz influenced covers and originals 

1.10pm: CJF25 Scholars Showcase Our rising stars present a sparkling set of work from the last six months together, accompanied by a house band made up of local jazz royalty. 

2.50pm: LIIT (Naarm / MEL) One of Australia’s most innovative drummers, Kyrie Anderson, is joined by all-stars Niran Dasika (tpt.) and Lawrence Folvig (gtr.) for a set of fresh, dreamy and original jazz. 

4.30pm: Ra Bellatrix Genre-bending-silly-deep-trashy-chic-bad-girl-rock mixed with alt pop and jazz with a healthy dash of comedic existentialism – quite unlike anything else on this year’s bill! 

6.10pm: The Echo Band Our friends from the north Sophie Leslie, ade ishs, Nick Hart and Bruce Innocent play the kind of jazz that’s bound to leave you cheering for more. 

7.50pm: Tai Harlii One of our state’s most compelling writers and performers, Tai Harlii blends soul and R&B in a way that no one else quite does. 


PARK STAGE

12.20pm: The JB Quintet An excellent example of one of Nipaluna (Hobart’s) recent explosion of exemplary jazz quintets, Jesse Bowden creates a musical platform for creative freedom and self expression. 

2pm: The Black Swans of Trespass Electric banjo-forward ground-breaking ska, mento, folk and jazz that’s going to get you up and dancing. 

3.40pm: Shindig Quattro Keeping you entertained with classic jazz standards, quirky Euro-style numbers, up tempo tunes and chilled out Sambas. 

5.20pm: A Supreme Love Spike Mason leads an all star local ensemble playing original work celebrating and reflecting on the 60 year legacy of John Coltrane’s iconic album, “A Love Supreme”. 

7pm: Squid Nebula (Naarm  / Melbourne) Fresh from supporting Herbie Hancock at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, powerhouse vocalist Bumpy leads this wildly popular band pairing cosmic grooves and psychedelic disco. 

8.40pm Allysha Joy (Naarm / Melbourne) Lead singer of 30/70, Allysha Joy brings her eponymous band, distinctive husky vocal style, unparalleled songwriting and formidable prowess to Lutruwita shores for the first time. Get ready to boogie the night away! 

GALLERY STAGE

12.20pm: Steve Bond Steve sings original Spanish songs, accompanying himself on the guitar with a fusion of virtuosic Flamenco and Bolero styles. 

2pm: Sir Fred Bradshaw Trio An intimate set with one of the evergreen giants of the nipaluna (Hobart) jazz scene. 

 3.40pm: Little Valley Darlings A new dynamo trio of vocalists: Mangus, Elly Hoyt and Katy Raucher presenting original work exploring classic jazz and folk. 

5.20pm: Miss Jones Original, soul filled blues, sharing personal stories of heartache, love and grief with a distinctive powerful vocal style. 


ROSNY BARN JAZZ LOUNGE (tickets available separately)

2pm: A Love Asunder Award winning musicians Elly Hoyt (vox) and Louise Denson (keys) present new work for jazz sextet, exploring the poignant tale of convicts Alice and John McKinlay. 

3.40pm: Stella Anning Quartet (Naarm / Melbourne) Guitarist Stella Anning collaborates with drummer Kyrie Anderson and locals Kelly Ottaway and Sasha Gavlek to present original contemporary jazz work. 

5.20pm: Finn Seccombe Septet New work from Finn’s latest record, ‘Don’t Lose Heart’. Expect tunes featuring lush brass and a mix of jazz, modern soul and South American rhythms.

7pm: Matt McMahon and Phil Slater (SYD) Two of Australia’s masters of jazz come together for an intimate duo performance, drawing on their 30 years of rich history to improvise together on original pieces and choice standards. Truly a delectable musical feast. 

9.30pm Late night jazz jam Join Spike Mason and Festival Ambassador Kristin Berardi + a killer house band of festival luminaries for a grand old jam session. BYO instrument and sit in with us, or just come and enjoy an evening of totally unscripted chaos! Free!

GETTING HERE

By car or taxi: Rosny Farm is a 10-minute drive over the Derwent bridge from Nipaluna (Hobart) CBD and Moonah CBD. We are a short drive from Rosny CBD and next door to Eastlands Shopping Centre. Parking is available at the Eastlands Carpark and overflow parking will be available on the Rosny Parklands (entrance next to the former Rosny Golf Club).

By bus: Rosny Bus Mall is a 5-minute walk from the Rosny Farm. Timetables and more information available here: Hobart Network - Metro Tasmania

By ferry: 
Enjoy a leisurely 10-minute cruise across timtimuli manya (Derwent river) on the Bellerive ferry! Jump on at the Brooke Street Pier on the Nipaluna (Hobart) waterfront and off at the Bellerive ferry terminal. From there it's a gentle 10-minute stroll up to the festival site. On foot: Our festival site is a 5-minute walk from the Rosny CBD and bus mall, 10 minutes from the Bellerive Ferry Terminal about 1.5 hours across the Derwent Bridge from nipaluna (Hobart) CBD, 25 minutes from Bellerive Beach and about 55 minutes from Lindisfarne Village along the esplanade.

By bike: Our festival site is accessible along the Clarence Foreshore Trail and via the intercity cycleway on the Western Shore and Derwent Bridge. You can also bring your bike on the Derwent Ferry!
