An artist of passion and conviction
Claire Angel Bonner wears her heart on her sleeve and it is impossible to escape the passion and conviction of her practice as an artist.

"There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember. And there is pansies, that’s for thoughts.”
Ophelia in William Shakespeare's Hamlet
Acclaimed Tasmanian guitarist and 19th century specialist Claire Angel Bonner performs guitar masterworks alongside a cycle of original poetry, creating an introspective narrative that unites the echoes of the past with the memories of those we hold close.
Interweaving her narrative with floral symbolism and personal reflections on the connections that link us all, Claire has chosen works by Giuliani, Coste, Mertz, and Sor that speak of friendship, nature, grief and love - and the fragility of shared memories.

Claire Angel Bonner wears her heart on her sleeve and it is impossible to escape the passion and conviction of her practice as an artist.
Claire captivated her Edinburgh audience with an inventive and deeply musical recital, showcasing the expressive power of the guitar in its most authentic form. She brought the music vividly to life.
Claire is a high-level interpreter of this music. She provided an immersive day of 19th century guitar artistry, including a brilliant solo recital of variety and depth.
Classical repertoire as it was meant to be - up close, expressive, and shared with a warm, engaged audience.
Claire's musicality and knowledge of 19th century repertoire is a real tour de force. Her playing is divine, colourful, and beautifully phrased with nuanced delicacy.
Her music style is almost too mesmerising to behold.
Each and every note is carefully crafted and executed in such a way that the music doesn't so much reach out to the audience as it does draw them in. A rare quality indeed.
