This event celebrates Clare Cowley's latest single 'In Your Web' labelled "mesmerising" and "another road trip-worthy banger". Clare is joined by The Flames, featuring Singer-songwriters Kathryn McKee (K Mak) on Cello, vocal sculptor on Harmonies, Julia Bates and poetic powerhouse Skye McNicol (Camping) on Violin. The Flames accentuate her depth in songwriting, resonating with the authentic qualities of sisterhood and dynamism, showcased both in the latest album, Desire Notes and in their live performances.
Join CC & the Flames, hailing from Brisbane/Jagera and Turrbal country, as they celebrate the latest single In Your Web. A song about catching yourself being spun by a spider talking through their hat. 🕷🕸 Roger Bergodaz, from Union St Studios engineered and mixed the track.

Stepping into the spotlight, BELLA DEER's track 'Care Too Much' garnered significant attention as a top 40 finalist in the prestigious APRA AMCOS Vanda and Young Global Songwriting Competition. This recognition firmly placed BELLA DEER in the company of other esteemed Australian songwriters, such as Yirrimal, DMAs, Amyl and the Sniffers, Baker Boy, Ziggy Alberts, Liz Stringer, and the sensational Genesis Owusu, to name but a few. Geelong Advertiser named her as an 'artist to watch' in early 2023.
Her latest industry recognition comes with being a finalist and receiving an honourable mention in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) n the Adult Contemporary section based in Nashville, TN.
As anticipation builds for her upcoming release, it is evident that Bella Deer is firmly on the rise.

Clare Cowley is a musical storyteller deeply grounded in the folk traditions she learnt in her hometown, Allora. An experience woven into each note of Clare's layered melodies and weeping guitar, as she wrestles with notions of heart ache and desire. Themes captured in her her jazz-inspired 'Black Seeds' and 'Need a Cuddle' that led to enchanting 2023 sophomore album 'Desire notes'.
The 2024 Qld Music Award nominee unveiled her vinyl album, made in collaboration with sound engineer Dylan Jeffreys, and toured it through regional Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. She is now busy writing and recording new material.
Whether charming listeners as a solo artist or accompanied by her band, The Flames, Cowley's performances resonate from the intimate corners of Queensland, to 'the big smoke'.
