    Event description

Join Art Jam to connect with your body and spirit, in the lush surrounds of our urban farm. You'll be using your hands with fresh clay to connect with your emotions, your creativity and your body. This highly tactile medium is a wonderful way to connect our creative mind with our bodily sensations, to sink into a meditative flow state.

You will be given two balls of clay to form into expressive personal sculptures, which you may keep, and even continue working on at home.

Art Jam is a community arts and mental heath organisation. Their workshops are designed by an arts therapist and community art worker, to help participants achieve a creative flow state, as a tool for improving mental health and creating better connections within communities. With a strong passion for mental health and community connection, Cheryl and Ellie are a dynamic duo who are incredibly resourceful and skilled creative facilitators.

Perth City Farm is an urban permaculture farm that aims to educate about sustainable food production and help inspire kinder ways of living, connected to nature, to spirit and to each other. You may like to arrive early to spend some time in the farm before joining the workshop in the Barn space.

Parking is challenging around the farm on weekdays and it may be best to consider public transport. Perth City Farm is right next to Claisebrook train station and at the end of the Yellow CAT bus line. Otherwise, there is a paid parking carpark off Royal Street, just opposite the farm gate.

Please note that masks must be worn when indoors at Perth City Farm run events and education sessions, including this one, unless you have a valid exemption. The WA mask mandate has ended, but case numbers are still high and we consider this measure a sensible way to keep our participants and staff safe. We know wearing masks can be annoying, but we also know that some in our community are more vulnerable to COVID-19, and the wearing of masks means everyone can participate in our events. Thank you very much for your understanding and ongoing support.
