Walk, Talk & Clean - Clean Up Australia Day
Event description
Come and Join our walk, talk and Clean up along Edgars Creek! This Clean Up Australia Day we are heading down to one of our precious waterways to do our part. By keeping our waterways clean we are protecting local species and removing any litter/pollution that threatens their homes.
Our waterways provide for 70% of Melbourne's drinking water, and home many species. They also are one of the main transport streams, where rubbish can travel quickly from one spot to another.
We will be learning about local species and habitats through a guided walk as well as the effects plastic may be having on the local environment.
We will be meeting at the shelter in the park on Edgar's road.
Schedule:
10-10:30: arrive and guided walk.
10:30-11.30: Register/brief/do pick-up rubbish.
11:30-12:00: Morning Tea
