Clean Up for Platypus #2 - Underbank, Bacchus Marsh

Help us finish cleaning up litter alongside platypus habitat, in the Underbank Riverview area, Bacchus Marsh (off Fulham Circuit, in the newer area of Underbank). There is lots to be done, and something for all ages and abilities!

There will be two time slots - come to one or both :). BYO lunch (if you’re staying for lunch).

Date: Sun 10th August
Time slot one: 10am to 12pm

Time slot two: 12pm to 2pm
Location: Meet at the playground opposite 22 Fulham Circuit, Underbank Riverview area, Bacchus Marsh. (See map pin here).

Wear: Sturdy, enclosed shoes (no open toes), sunscreen, hat and clothing appropriate for weather on the day. Long pants preferable (especially if you'll be helping near long grass / the creek). 
Bring: Reusable water bottle filled with water. Lunch if you’re staying for lunch. Also your own gloves if you wish to (although we'll also supply gloves to use).

We'll supply: Gloves, bags, pick-sticks and other equipment for picking up litter. We'll also provide some light snacks.

Details: In March our clean-up day participants did a phenomenal job cleaning up between the playground and where Korkuperrimul Creek meets the Werribee River. This made a gigantic difference, but we still have some last bits to clean up. There are two time slots - come to one or the other or both… it’s up to you.

Please sign in at the playground. There are some easy flat areas, and some more sloping areas for those who prefer a bit of a workout - take your pick!

Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

The beautiful river red gums, platypuses, birds, echidnas, river and creek of this area will thank you for your help!
(Platypuses will be asleep in their burrows, and echidnas hiding away, but they will be relieved to have a clean home again!).
