Hope in the Crisis: A Climate Conversation with David Ritter, CEO of Greenpeace Australia Pacific

Join us at the Greenhouse Tech Hub on June 26 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm for a fireside chat with Greenpeace Australia Pacific CEO David Ritter, to learn more about the work and mission of Greenpeace Australia Pacific—an independent campaigning organisation fighting for a greener, healthier world for our oceans, forests, food and climate. 

David will talk about Greenpeace’s work in Australia and around the world, provide an inside look into some of Greenpeace Australia Pacific’s most successful campaigns, and make a case for hope in these times of climate and environmental crisis.  

Event Highlights:

• Introduction to Greenpeace: Discover the story of Greenpeace globally and in Australia, including its mission to stop fossil fuels, protect nature, and achieve climate justice .
• Transformative campaigns: Gain an inside look at one of Greenpeace’s campaigns to shift major corporate polluters to become climate leaders: Re-Energise, which turned household names like Coles, Woolworths and Aldi into national renewable energy leaders. 
• Dealing with eco-anxiety: Working on climate is important work, but can be emotionally difficult terrain. Hear about the highs and lows of climate and environment campaigning, and the practical strategies that help campaigners remain resolute and hopeful in challenging times. 
• A laser focus on solutions: Building on the idea that ‘the antidote to despair is action’, learn about Greenpeace’s approach to delivering solutions at the most transformative, systemic scale possible; and the importance of deep collaboration with allies and partners to achieve impact as well as tap into solidarity and community to get through difficult times together. 

Following the fireside chat, there will be a Q&A session where attendees can ask David questions.
