Event description

PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL EDUCATION WEBINAR

The climate crisis is a health emergency. We are seeing the dire and extreme impacts in the world around us and in our work as health professionals. Unless we act now, the climate crisis is going to deepen and we will pass a point of no return that risks our very existence.

It is the moral responsibility of all us to act in the face of the monumental threats that our planet faces. As health professionals we have a duty of care to protect the health of humanity and we must step up now and act in the face of this health emergency.

We know we must cut emissions and stop burning fossil fuels and we know we must protect biodiversity. But how do we these things, what is our treatment plan?

The webinar will focus on what health professionals can do to remedy our planets ill health. We will focus on actions we can do as a profession, as practitioners, as people and as political activists.

Our panel members are:-

  • Dr John Van Der Kallen: Chair of Doctors for the Environment Australia
  • Dr Kim Loo: NSW DEA Chair and AMA NSW council member
  • Ms Denise Cauchi: DEA's executive director, and
  • Dr Kate Wylie: facilitator of the After Hours webinar series.

There is much to do and there is a place for everybody to act to their own strengths. Come along and let's work together to heal our planet.

Although targeted to health professionals this is a public event and all interested parties are very welcome to attend

THIS IS AN ACCREDITED ACTIVITY WITH RACGP AND ACRRM
