Description

Introducing the Festival’s first ever Climate Fiction Book Exchange!  We invite you to join us, either to share the book that has had an impact on you or simply to find inspiration for your next reads.

Climate fiction can be described as a literary genre that uses speculative storytelling to explore the effects of climate change on individuals, communities, and ecosystems. It is not enough for the public to simply be informed about climate change. It is sometimes necessary to bring this future to life through storytelling so that it becomes more concrete and tangible.

Through their captivating stories, novelists help us fully grasp this changing world, the natural environment that is gradually disappearing and the threat posed by this uncertain future.

This is a space to discuss the books we’ve read and would like to share. We hope that these stories will inspire us collectively to take action to create a world in which we want to live, today and tomorrow.

The book exchange will be held in the Kotahitanga - Meeting Room

This event is part of the Nelson Tasman Climate Forum's annual Climate Action Festival, check out all other events on our website - https://www.nelsontasmanclimateforum.nz/2026-climate-action-festival/
