The Climate Fresk workshop, run by Climate Club Aotearoa, will support you to take action on climate change and learn how to communicate it’s impacts to your community in this fun & collaborative workshop.

About Climate Club:

Climate Club is a local non-profit organisation aiming to help people across Aotearoa take systemic action on climate change. We deliver a range of workshops to various groups - including schools, councils, and community organisations. Check out our website: climateclub.nz!

What is the workshop?

The Climate FRESK workshop will teach you about climate change in a fun and participatory way, with learnings backed by science. The workshop brings participants through a process of creative learning, reflection and discussion to find actions and empowerment about the climate crisis.

Fun & Interactive: Our workshops are about taking a step back and understanding the causes and consequences of climate change. It brings people together through an interactive game-like format that encourages people to creatively arrive at solutions to the climate crisis together.

For all ages & backgrounds: We have adapted these workshops to work for various different demographics, from age 15 to 100! It works for folks who are completely new to climate change, or veterans looking for a refreshing collaborative brainstorm.

Evidence-based: The 3-hour workshops are based on the globally popular Climate Fresk framework, which are based on the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports. The game has been played by over 2 million people worldwide. It focuses on systems-level change, educating participants on the fundamental science behind climate change while empowering them to take action.

Where and when?

This workshop will be hosted by Climate Club Aotearoa at GRID Auckland, at 101 Pakenham Street West, Wynyard Quarter, Auckland, on Thursday 3rd September, 2-5pm.

Please bus, walk or cycle to the event if you can!

Feedback on the Fresk:

“We loved the format of the Climate Fresk session as it didn’t leave us hanging at the ‘what’s happening for our planet’ stage, but helped us identify actions that would really make a difference,” Teresa Solomon, kindergarten teacher and Fresk participant.

“Thank you so much for today’s workshop. I know the participants really valued the insights they drew from your thoughtful, and perfectly pitched, facilitation. And they had fun too – win:win!" - Sue Brown
