Emotional intelligence matters
Feeling overwhelmed by what we are facing? We think that acknowledging the emotions this crisis brings up is self-indulgent and hinders action. But how can we be empowered if we don't acknowledge our lived experience? Come to this session to explore naming and taming common feelings tied in with climate change and how emotions can boost agency and inspire action.
About Climate Parties:
Climate Parties offer a pivotal change to the way we communicate and engage with the climate crisis - away from
threatening messages that leave us feeling overwhelmed and emotionally frozen with fear - towards a sense of
positivity, community and belonging. These events bring people together to raise awareness and explore the human
experience at this moment in time. The insights gained aim to give us the necessary tools to step into agency and
actively participate in creating the future we want.
About the presenter:
Christina is an educator and learning designer who specialises in applying HCD principles to create fun and engaging
learning experiences. Her multicultural background shapes her intersectional perspectives to the problems we are
facing. Extensive research into climate psychology and communication lead her to create the Climate Parties.
