Event description

Green roofs, green walls, and water sensitive urban design projects are beginning to infiltrate urban spaces as planners aim to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change through ‘living infrastructure’.

New technologies in cooling and recycling are hitting the streets of South Australia. Come along to the Climate Smart Roads webinar to hear about trials across the state aimed at tackling the urban heat island effect or supporting the circular economy through the use of recycled products.

You’ll hear from:

  • Mark Siebentritt (Edge Environment) who will share the results of the Cool Road Adelaide Project and other cool road trials
  • Michelle English (City of Adelaide) who will talk about cool roads as a tool for tackling urban heat
  • Dameon Roy (City of Salisbury) who will discuss recycled roads and the impacts on surface heat
  • Colin Natt (City of Marion) who will share the results of a new South Australian recycled concrete product, Toberite.
