Learn how to use clinical governance to improve outcomes and meet theStrengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
This interactive workshop will simplify clinical governance and guide you through practical steps to ensure your service meets the requirements of the Aged Care Quality Standards for governing safe, high-quality care.
Part 1: eLearning (self-paced online module) - duration 2 hours
Module 1: Overview of clinical governance
- Explore the definition and purpose of clinical governance
- Understand what a clinical governance framework is, and how it works to improve the safety and quality of care
- Know how accountability for clinical governance is shared across all levels of staff
- Discover the key clinical governance committee responsibilities for monitoring and continuously improving clinical governance systems
Module 2: Clinical Governance in Aged Care
- Gain an overview of the provision of clinical care in Aged Care Services
- Know the Strengthened Aged Care Standards requirements for clinical governance and gain ideas for successful implementation
- Be aware of the expectation for consumer participation and support for positive risk taking
- Understand how the Quality Care Advisory Body and Consumer Advisory Body can assist with achieving effective clinical governance
Part 2: Instructor Led Training via Zoom - duration 2 hours
- Practice designing a clinical governance framework for a specific clinical risk to support you in implementing clinical governance requirements
- Discuss how to use this framework to monitor, reduce risk and improve the quality of care to meet organisational governance requirements
