Swap it Like it's Hot - Clothes Swap
Event description
Ready to refresh your wardrobe and make a difference? Join us for a North Sydney Council Sustainability Clothes Swap — where style meets sustainability and every hanger holds a story. Bring your best pre-loved pieces and swap them for new-to-you treasures,
Please bring up to SIX items of QUALITY clothing in excellent condition for any size, age and gender. Excellent condition means clothing is clean, pressed and free from rips, holes, stains or major faults. Only bring items you would proudly give to a friend. Please bring each piece of clothing on a clothes hanger, if at all possible.
Items could include:
* Tops, shirts and blouses
* Pants, jeans and shorts
* Skirts, dresses and suits
* Jumpers, cardigans and jackets
* Belts, bags and shoes
* Scarves, ties and hats
We will not be accepting:
* Fast fashion
* Jewellery
* Underwear, socks and swimwear
* Sportswear, activewear and tracksuits
* Anything stained, torn or unclean
* Noticeably worn out, pilling, frayed, sweat stained, smelly, marked or far from perfect
Fast fashion is NOT accepted at this swap, in order to disrupt the excessive flow of fast fashion taking over our wardrobes. This is because fast fashion is unsustainable, unethical and exploitative. Swaps prove that people can get free or affordable clothing without buying fast fashion. We’re encouraging conscious, slow consumption by celebrating and swapping quality items made from natural fabrics, handmade garments, retro & vintage fashion, non-fast fashion brands, slow fashion clothing, brand new and secondhand luxury items.
