The Great Global Mend & Clothes Swap

Be part of a global movement for change while celebrating creativity, sustainability and community right here in Vincent!

Join us for the Great Global Mend, an unofficial world record attempt in textile repair happening across 16 Perth metropolitan councils. But that’s not all. Alongside the record attempt, you’ll enjoy a full day of activities that celebrate sustainable fashion: swap pre-loved clothes, learn practical repair and upcycling skills, and connect with a community of makers, menders, and eco-conscious fashion lovers.

You don’t need to join every activity - come for one, or stay for them all. Whether you’re a seasoned sewer, a keen knitter, or someone who has a favourite item in need of repair, this is your chance to show that sustainable fashion is the way forward.

What's on:

♻️ Care to Rewear Clothes Swap

🕘 9am - 12pm

• Bring up to 10 pre-loved adult clothing items, accessories, or shoes (clean and dry)

• Swap them for treasures that are new-to-you at no cost, just conscious fashion

• Donations will be checked, weighed, sorted, and displayed for browsing

• Adult clothes only - no bric-a-brac

• Free (registration required)

👚 Upcycle & Repair workshop with Tegan Jenkins

🕘 10am - 11am

• Learn to upcycle and extend the life of your clothes through patch-making!

• Suitable for ages 12+. No prior experience necessary

• Limited spots available

• Participants do not need to bring anything; however, they are welcome to bring any beloved items they would like to repair/decorate.

• Repair kits provided.

• Cost: $5 (registration required)

• Mend in a communal space, learn from fellow attendees, and join in the repair record attempt

• BYO basic hand-sewing repair kit and simple clothing/textile repair projects
