    Event description

Sustainable Clothing Co. & The Adelaide Sustainability Centre Presents:

Clothes Swap + Upcycling & Repair Workshop: June 2024 Edition

Swapping your clothing promotes the reduction, reuse, and recycling of clothing!

This winter, you are invited to the Sustainable Community Clothing Swap for June 2024, at The Joinery, 111 Franklin Street, Adelaide CBD; a community connected by a love for nature, sustainable living, and a desire to lead positive change.

You will also be able to participate in a repair and upcycling workshop with two sessions on the day, running from 11am - 12:30pm and 1pm-2:30pm (tickets to this workshop can be purchased alongside swap tickets)

NEVER BEEN TO A SWAP BEFORE? HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

    1. Simply gather a minimum of 5-10 pieces of clothing which are in good, wearable condition.
The more you bring along the better, if you want to bring more than 10 items for swapping, please feel welcome to do so!
    2. Drop your donations into the Sustainable Clothing Co. store; 24a Charles Street, Adelaide 5000, between Monday the 17th of June and Friday the 21st of June between 10am-5pm (24A Charles Street, Adelaide City, just off Rundle Mall) and we will take your items to the venue the morning of the event.
If you can't make it into town, you are still welcome to bring your clothes in on the morning of the swap to The Joinery as well.
    3. On the day of the event (Saturday the 22nd of June) come to The Joinery and pick up some new-to-you clothing to take home!
The number of items you bring in is the same number of items you can take home
    4. At the end of the swap, the majority of the remaining clothing will be donated onto supporting homelessness, ex-prisoners and women's shelters, along with Housing Choices SA (providing safe, secure and affordable rental housing) and the Anti Poverty Network (alliance of people affected and concerned by the effects of poverty and unemployment in Australia).
    5. Please note, the clothes swap is not a dumping ground for stained, ripped, unwearable clothing, instead ask us how we can recycle your damaged goods and consider bringing items to the swap that you would give to family and friends.
