Event description

This is a clown workshop diving into the essential elements of clown! Explore the clowns' connection to the audience, the ‘clown state’, complicité (playing together), your sensitivity and vulnerability onstage. This workshop will guide you through a series of games and exercises both solo and in groups to discover your unique stage presence, beauty, and your individual kind of funny. Learn about playing generously to your audience and working from a state of play and joy when performing. 

This workshop is suitable for performers new to clown, with a little experience, or more seasoned clowns who are looking to play, explore and connect in a respectful and supportive environment. 

WORKSHOP TIMES:

Saturday 18th January- 12:30-6:30pm

Sunday 19th January - 10am-5pm

About the Facilitator

Laura Trenerry has been performing and teaching clown and physical theatre for many years. She is one third of The Travelling Sisters and one half of The Beryls, as well as an ensemble member of Stickybeak (Best Comedy, Melbourne Fringe 2023). She recently taught Clowning & Physical Comedy at Women’s Circus and regularly facilitates Comedy & Connection clown workshops.
