CLUB DEVELOPMENT: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AND POSITIVE COACHING SKILLS
The Shire of Exmouth in collaboration with the Gascoyne Development Commission is pleased to present Exmouth Sporting Clubs a FREE opportunity for club coaches to participate in mental health and positive coaching sessions, facilitated by Outreach Mental Health.
The workshops are designed for coaches to gain knowledge and skills to understand mental health and positive coaching techniques that enable a supportive environment for young sports people.
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW:
DURATION: 2-hour training session specific to an individual club as a group at a
selected date.
WORKSHOP VENUE:
The training can be facilitated at the club's venue, if an alternative venue is required, please advise through registration.
REGRISTRATION: Workshops are FREE, registration is essential.
CATERING: Light snacks are included.
All training materials and resources are provided by Outreach Mental Health.
TOPICS COVERED:
- Overview: mental health
overview and understanding of mental health, supporting other coaches, touching on the most common mental health challenges experienced by coaches and club members, examining the barrier for support and links between physical and mental health.
- Positive coaching
Positive coaching skills. Overall well-being and positive performance (active listening, empathy,
encouragement).
- Activities and planning
Research to practice Group activity: strategies to embed positive coaching skills within teams.
