Good governance helps a club make sound decisions, meet its responsibilities and stay focused on what matters most: its members and community.
This practical session breaks club governance down into clear, manageable areas. You’ll gain a better understanding of how an effective Board or Committee should operate, what is expected of its members and how good governance supports a stronger, more sustainable club.
Whether you’re new to a leadership role or looking to refresh your knowledge, you’ll leave with practical guidance you can apply within your club.

No previous governance experience is required.

• The roles of office bearers and individual Board or Committee members

• The difference between governance and day-to-day operations

• Legal duties, accountability and responsible decision-making

• Managing risk and meeting key compliance obligations

• Conflicts of interest and how they should be handled

• Practical ways to improve governance within your club
