This workshop introduces the CME Digital Technologies Program and builds foundational knowledge for classroom delivery.

Participants will:

  • Gain an overview of the program and its sequence of student learning challenges

  • Understand links to the Australian and WA Digital Technologies Curriculum

  • Exposed to and explore resources, equipment, and the Grok Academy online platform

  • Learn to register students and access support

  • Discover how to engage industry experts

  • Identify cross-curriculum opportunities

  • Join the CME DigiTech professional learning community

  • Explore careers and pathways in the mining and energy sector

Participant Requirements

  • Teacher-verified Grok Academy account (see https://grokacademy.org/)

  • Access to a computing device with internet and video conferencing capability

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Confidently access and use CME DigiTech resources via Grok Academy

  • Demonstrate understanding of program concepts and sequence

  • Align program challenges with the WA Digital Technologies Curriculum

  • Navigate CME and Department Connect platforms for resource access

  • Know how to request support or arrange industry engagement

  • Apply mobile computing to support automation and data science learning tasks
