Event description

Hui2025 marks CNA’s 50th year as an important sector organisation and resource for Aotearoa/New Zealand.

In the last three years, our membership has grown, not only in numbers but also in the range of kaupapa and services that you provide all across the Motu. We are proud to be your umbrella organisation and continue to provide information, representation, and support.

This celebratory networking event is aimed at ensuring your organisation lasts as long as we have. Yes, that is a brag!

Sessions include practicable ideas on ‘Getting the Dosh – Ensuring Financial Health’; ‘Wicked Solutions for Wicked Problems’; and ‘Collaborating Beyond the Usual’.

Presenters and panellists include:

  • Poto Williams - Former Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector Minister for Disability Issues

  • Holly Snape - Chief Executive, Community Waikato

  • Murray Edridge - City Missioner at The Wellington City Mission

  • Belinda Gorman - Partnership & collaboration facilitator, trainer, coach

  • Ros Rice - Executive Officer, Community Networks Aotearoa

  • Barry Baker - NFP and Membership organisations Specialist at Grant Thornton New Zealand

Sadly, this is the last CNA Members’ Hui without a registration fee. As finances tighten, this will be the last FREE Hui for CNA. In the past we've been in a unique position to value our members by providing the Hui for free. 2027 will see the introduction of a registration fee.

🎂 WE’RE 50! 🎂

CNA started life as NZCOSS, which was formed as a national social service umbrella organisation on 10th November 1975 by signed order from the Minister of Social Welfare, Norman King, under the Department of Social Welfare Act 1971.

Since then, we’ve changed our name but continued to provide substantial resources, reports, and representation to the sector and at the government level.

We’ve taken on banks, the State of the Sector Report, Select Committees, and more in order to lessen pain points and provide easier ways forward.

Come celebrate with us at our Members’ Hui – meet some old faces, and some even older faces. A blast from the past as we start our next half century. Time for cake and some bubbles.

Need financial help to attend our LAST FREE Hui?

CNA has a Membership Support Fund that can help. Specifically aimed at Tier 4 and 3 members, please contact Ros at eo@communitynetworksaotearoa.org.nz for more details. Applications close Saturday 31st of May.
