This is it—FBR's final Cuts n' Cups takeover of the Nihao Bar venue for the year. We're not sure when we'll be back, so best believe we're going out with a vengeance.

We've gathered Sydney's finest musical talent, and curated a drinks menu that'll have you wrestling the bar staff to the floor for more.

The SPACE

Nihao Bar

Nihao bar is situated above the civic hotel. Most days, it's a laid-back, rather fancy bar with very non FBR vibes. We've been their coffee plug for some time now and have been itching to infect their venue with our crowd, our style, and our sound.

Now we've finally got the chance :)

We're transforming their space this Thursday night into the UNDERGROUND APEX. Expect a unique cocktail menu, food and a range of curated coffee.

The CULTURE

ISAIAH HILL / TONY PYJAMAS: 1800-1900 [DIGITAL]

BIO: Tony Pyjamas is a Sydney-based DJ and producer finding his footing in the electronic music scene in 2019. His sounds explore the intersection of house and techno, showcasing a unique, funky, lo-fi blend of electronic music. Driven by a passion for underground sounds, Tony's sets navigate between driving techno rhythms and house music's infectious grooves, carving out a distinctive space in the electronic music scene.

CAITLIN MEDCALF / MIRA: 1900-2000 [DIGITAL]

BIO: Mira (AKA Caitlin Medcalf) is a DJ, producer, radio host & curator with over a decade of experience. After making the move from Sydney to the Blue Mountains (Dharug & Gundungurra Country) earlier in 2024, the year has been spent making new connections, honing in on a new identity & building a new label & community under the name Cubby, alongside her partner Slamb. As Cubby, Mira & Slamb regularly co-curate a collaborative, grass-roots event series called Hier, based in the Blue Mountains. The party is in collaboration with lighting & event powerhouse SIRC_UIT & sound expert EZ Audio. Her time spent DJing under her real name took her to just about every major festival in the country (Splendour In The Grass, Beyond The Valley, Listen Out, Falls Festival). In 2021, she performed her Boiler Room debut at the inaugural Lost Sundays, which currently has 20K+ streams on Youtube. She has supported the likes of Octave One, Paul Woolford, Nina Las Vegas & more. She has hosted a variety of radio shows since 2014 on prolific Sydney community radio station FBi Radio, the now-defunct Nomad Radio, and London's Balamii Radio. She began releasing music in 2021, with her debut single 'Gel' out via Parry Talks. She has since released a run of original tracks & remixes on labels like Gallery Recordings, Sticky Tapes (UK), Backpocket Slammers & more. 2025 will see more parties, more music via Cubby & more Mira.

CALEB HILL / END IN TEARS: 2000-2200 [DIGITAL B2B]

STYLE/GENRE: DETROIT, HEAVY GARAGE, ACID TECHNO
BIO: End In Tears has been steadily paving and creating a new sound of his own. Always striving to push conventional boundaries and explore new ideas within music. Having released under highly acclaimed labels such as Motorik!, Les Yeux Orange, eclectic. with collaborations from AK Sports, Willo to name a couple. He has performed alongside noticeable acts such as DJ Mell G, DJ Fuckoff, STUM, and X CLUB. End In Tears music can be described as an ever evolving blend of house, breakbeat and dance, with  a heavy emphasis on experimentation and abstract sound design.

JASPER MATTHEWS / SLIPPED:UP: 2000-2200 [DIGITAL/VINYL B2B]

BIO: SLIPPED:UP is an emerging DJ known for his deep, rhythmic and thumping house sets. Based in Sydney and performing at such renowned venues as Stanleys, Tokyo Sing Song, Cafe Del Mar and more, he continues to shape and refine his distinctive sound. Characterised by hard hitting 90s house basslines, as well as his love for UK Hardcore and Jungle rhythms, SLIPPED:UP presents a unique fusion of underground sounds and infectious grooves that is earning him a growing reputation as one of the most exciting up-and-coming talents in the scene.

Hand-picked selection of Diggy-Doos, Haven, Sleepy Bloc, Headlands coffee, and Stitch for you all to enjoy alongside the music.
