Co-Design and Refugee Youth Settlement: For Youth by Youth

Join us for the latest virtual International Refugee Integration and Settlement Exchange (IRISE) event, a global gathering of organisations, groups and individuals involved in supporting refugees arriving through resettlement and other complementary pathways.

This IRISE Virtual Exchange will focus on how we can facilitate the meaningful participation of refugee young people in a way that leads not just to welcoming, but to belonging.

Be a part of the conversation, as we explore questions such as:

What are the challenges to co-designing with refugee young people, and how do we overcome these challenges?

How do we move from consultation to genuine shared decision making, where refugee young people have real influence over the decisions that affect them?

How can we create spaces where young people can contribute their lived experience without feeling pressured to disclose trauma or personal stories?

In this session you will:

• Hear from young leaders about what can be done to ensure young people are not just involved in designing programs that affect them, but meaningfully engaged and leading these programs

• Discuss what it means to co-design a youth-settlement program

• Engage with your peers to share and hear what is happening in this space around the world.
