Event description

How might we come together as a community of reflective practitioners?

What is this about?

We are interested in experimenting with what it means to be a community of reflective practitioners, and would love to invite you to play, learn and reflect with us!

We (Kim and Alli) are looking for 6 curious co-designers to join us on a journey through 8 different ways of learning about our own practices, by reflecting together.

What are these different ways of reflecting with others? You tell us! Everyone will be invited to take the group through a 45 minute activity of their choosing. In our last session, we’ll facilitate collective sense-making to help us understand different dimensions of our practices and what we learnt.

What we are asking:

• Be curious about ways of reflecting on practice and learning together
• Willing to offer a way of reflecting and learning about practice of the group

What we are offering:

• Ways of further developing your own reflective practices
• Space for growth, mutual support and learning with others
• Opportunity to build rapport and community within this small group of co-design -Kea members.

What this will look like:

Session 1: introduce the group to the Learning Circle, co-shape the topic areas to explore and invite everyone to experiment weekly with our provocation.

Sessions 2 - 7: each week, a rotating experiment leader takes the group through an exploration in how we learn from reflecting on our practice. This could be a reflection on a challenge, story, question, dream, tool or any aspect of practice that you and the group can learn from. The session can play with different ways of interacting, embodying, drawing, working to canvases or talking. At the close of each session we will reflect as a group about what that way of reflecting let us do.

Session 8: a sense-making session to reflect on collectively what patterns emerged? What did we learn? What can we co-create as a group to share with the wider community?

Who is this for?

We are hoping to form a diverse group of practitioners who are working on systemic challenges, pushing their practice and wanting to learn with others in a way that is generous, caring and creative.

Your role title is less important than your intention and willingness to experiment with how you work.
