Coach 2 Cope: TAR3 Parents and Carers by Dr Stephen Spencer (PhD) - Newcastle
Event description
EquiEnergy Youth is a not-for-profit and registered charity that is dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for children and young people across Australia.
Our programs are designed to build capacity in communities to support the mental health of children and young people and reduce instances of psychological distress, self-harm and the risk of suicide.
As a result of a PhD research project and thousands of hours of clinical experience, Dr Stephen Spencer has developed a simple, easy to follow method to guide adults on how and when to effectively respond to young people in distress and achieve a positive outcome. Steve will give you guidance on the most effective responses to children and young people experiencing episodes of acute distress.
The coaching is evidence-based, innovative and practical.
This is a community event that will also give you information, with stalls provided, on how to access services that will help you support the mental health of your child.
