Do you want to learn coaching skills to help with your own personal development? Do you want to learn how coaching can help teams and groups work more effectively?

This one day, interactive workshop is delivered by a team of ICF certified coaches and is ideal for people with an interest in coaching themselves and others, those seeking an introduction to the profession of coaching, or anyone wishing to enhance their personal or team development.

Learning Outcomes

At the completion of the course participants will have an understanding of the profession of coaching. Topics covered during the day to ensure these learning outcomes are reached include:

The course also features supervised coaching sessions where participants will get to practice and apply what they have learned, and receive feedback.

Facilitators

Verity Mace, BBus, CPCC, ACC is a Mentor, Facilitator, and Coach for over 10 years. Verity has supported others to grow and thrive while in transition. Her coaching approach centres on curiosity, creativity and compassion and is underpinned by the science and practice of Positive Intelligence (PQ). She draws on an eclectic pool of work experience working in/with multi-nationals as well as the entrepreneurial space in countries as diverse as Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates. A certified coach trained by the Pioneers in the industry - the Coaches Training Institute - Verity holds a Bachelor of Business Management (BBus), with majors in Marketing and HR. Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and professional member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Sean Whitaker, BA, MSc, MBA, ACC, PMP is an internationally recognized consultant and coach. In addition to his consulting career, Sean provides executive and leadership coaching to clients all around the world ranging from new graduates to C-level. He also develops and delivers coach training for individuals and organisations. His coaching approach is pragmatic and draws on a variety of proven coaching approaches, methods and techniques to support lasting change and development. He holds a range of post-graduate degrees and he is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the international coaching Federation (ICF), a Masteries Practitioner with the International Association of Coaching (IAC), a Certified Life Coach with the American Life Coaching Academy, and a Certified Health Coach with the American Council of Exercise (ACE).

Booking fees include morning tea, lunch (all dietary requirements catered for) and parking on-campus.

Refund policy

Refund and Cancellation policy A written notification of withdrawals or substitutions must be sent via email to The University of Canterbury Business School Executive Education Team at execed@canterbury.ac.nz Substitutions Participants who have registered for a place on a course may be substituted at no extra charge, where at least two business days’ notice is given prior to the course start date, via email to execed@canterbury.ac.nz Cancellations UC Executive Education reserves the right to cancel any course or programme for any reason. Fees are fully refundable for courses cancelled by us, however UC will not be responsible for airfares, accommodation or any other associated costs incurred by participants. No refund will be given where the participant fails to attend the course, or if the participant withdraws from the course at any stage, for any reason. Any cancellations received fewer than 14 days from the course start date are subject to different levels of refund, excluding GST as detailed below. Where a cancellation is received 15 or more days before course commencement, a full refund will be made. Notification received: 15 or more days : A full refund will be provided 8 – 14 days : 50% of course fee 7 days or less : No refund Covid19 Vaccine Passes Under the ‘Amber’ or ‘Red’ status of the COVID-19 traffic light system, vaccine passes will be scanned on arrival on the first day of each course. Attendees unable to present a valid vaccination pass will forfeit their place on the course and will not qualify for a refund. This is in line with providing less than 7 days’ notice of cancellation, per our standard cancellations policy described above.
