Event description

You are invited to join me as I present my ceramic lighting collection inspired by the natural beauty of Western Australia’s coastline and the bold forms of mid-century modern design. Hosted at the Courthouse Gallery in Busselton, this exhibition explores the interplay between light, form, and landscape, reflecting the unique coastal hues and textures of the land.

Using the technique of coil throwing, I have carefully crafted each pendant light to balance elegance with functionality. By intentionally limiting the weight of the larger ceramic lamps, I have created designs that retain the aesthetic purity of the form while eliminating the need for steel suspension wires. This has allowed the pieces to maintain their slender and elongated tops—essential to the design’s aesthetic.

This collection represents a culmination of technical and artistic evolution, blending geometric abstraction with the organic beauty of coastal Western Australia. I invite you to experience these illuminated sculptures as they cast light on both space and the spirit of the land.

Alongside the sculptural pendant lights, this exhibition will also feature a selection of functional ceramic pieces, available for purchase. These works bridge the gap between art and daily life, offering beautifully crafted items that are as practical as they are visually striking.
