    Event description

A rocket stove is an outdoor fireplace...with a twist. The only fuel it needs is small branches, and is a super efficient way to boil water and cook food.

Cob is made by mixing clay, sand and straw with water, and is a sustainable building material that has multiple applications.

In this workshop we'll show you how to make cob in the shape of a rocket stove. There's the option to get your hands (and feet) dirty, or just sit back and learn all about the method. At the end of the workshop we'll have a fully functional rocket stove that we can use at the garden to boil our billy and enjoy a nice cuppa while overlooking our beautiful market garden.

This event is free for Growing Together member: Join here or $15 for non-members.

    What to bring

Please bring a water bottle, appropriate clothing including closed shoes/boots, a hat and gloves. We have a first aid kit and sunscreen onsite.

    Getting there

Entrance to the market garden is through a side-gate on the south-eastern side the Milton Showground. There is parking on the grass near the entrance.
