    Event description

    Cockatoo Dreaming Women's Circle, October 22nd, 2023 @11am - 2pm

    11:00am - 2:00pm

"Cockatoo Dreaming is a healing, hosting, speaking, storytelling, life coaching and mentor business. Led by Lynda Millin Osborne a proud Bundjalung Woman from the Clarence River in NSW. Working intuitively using spoken word, tender and humorous stories, movement, music and interaction she facilitates a connection to self and other women called to come and sit collectively."

Since the beginning of time Women have sat in Circle to gather, listen, learn, heal and uplift one another.  It is time to come together once again. We have been gathering as a small community of like-minded women for 3 years now.

Come and join us on the majestic Dangar Island with our beloved Patron Aunty Nina Angelo OAM and be led on a mystical journey into Cockatoo Dreaming Women's Circle! A short ferry ride from Brooklyn come be with us on this car free nature paradise for the day. I warmly welcome you and invite you to come and rest, connect with your Self and share a journey with other women called into the circle at this time. The beauty of this community and circle is that we have such a diverse group of women from all ages, cultures and walks of life. All women who have heard the inner call for healing, growth and connection. I am always blown away by the immense power and gifts each woman brings to the circle. I use practices I’ve been taught throughout my diverse journey and have been called to lead at this time. I weave through this offering the tools and gems I've learned over the years with my Indigenous culture and learnings, my experience as an educator and business owner, my deep yoga path and my own healing and transformation. I'm honored to guide you to towards healing, a tender connection to yourself, growth, transformation, and to support you to find your next steps in your journey. Through deep Self enquiry, guided meditations, shares, music, movement and connection we will transform and heal together. I am called to encourage and guide others to become empowered to connect with themselves, their family and their community to create a life they love living.

    Aunty Nina Angelo

"Nina Angelo was born in Athens, Greece, shortly after WW2 and migrated to Sydney, Australia in June 1949 with her parents, both survivors of the Nazi concentration camps.

While overcoming significant challenges from ‘frying pan to fire’; Nina has founded, coordinated, publicised, taught and work-shopped creative and community arts and festival events, for over thirty years. She is a colourful character with a gift for connection with people of all ages and cultures. In 2009, Nina was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her ‘Service to the Arts and the (NSW) Central Coast community’

Nina’s first book, a memoir called “Don’t Cry, Dance”, celebrates and honours life, love, family and tolerance of people from all cultures, colours and creeds. She discovered her father Alberto’s interviews from 30 years ago, which had been held in the Holocaust Museum in the USA, and combined these with her mother Janka’s story, who first met her father in Auschwitz. As a storyteller and artist, it was time to add her story to theirs, and leave a lasting memory for her children, grandchildren and for future generations.

Nina is a connector of the creative dots in communities. She is a motivational speaker, arts consultant, mentor, intuitive artist, registered Marriage Celebrant, writer and activist. Nina is passionate about gathering women together to share their truth and heal the impacts of intergenerational trauma through storytelling. She seeks to uncover the creative spirit in all of us and capture the stories of our culture in our times."
