Coercive Control Workshop - Gordon NSW
Free workshop on Coercive Control
Recognising and responding to coercive control: Capacity building for community frontline settlement sector workers
This free workshop was developed by the NSW Multicultural Centre for Women’s and Family Safety (The Adira Centre) at SSI.
This workshop will support you in understanding:
What is coercive control
How does coercive control relate to domestic and family violence (DFV)
What forms of violence you may come across in your work with migrant and refugee communities
Coercive Control was criminalised within NSW in 2024 within intimate partner relationships. It is important that we are all equipped to recognise when someone we are working with may be experiencing coercive control, and how we can best support them.
This free workshop will provide you with information, guidance and practical examples of how to recognise and respond to coercive control.
Our workshop is delivered in a way that is trauma informed, culturally responsive and victim-survivor centred.
If you are unable to attend any of the workshop sessions you can also register for our free online e-Learning module on coercive control here
