Coffee and Cake in the Chapel @ Hut 65
Description
The Benalla Migrant Camp Exhibition is presenting this event as part of the Benalla Festival 2026.
The former Benalla Migrant Camp Chapel (Hut 65) has just reopened after being under restoration for three years. For the first time ever, there is the opportunity to enjoy coffee and homemade European cakes inside this very special building.
This event is an initiative of the Benalla Migrant Camp Exhibition, and our volunteers are sharing their well-loved cake recipes originating from Germany and Poland. In Europe, coffee and cake (Kaffee und Kuchen) is a tradition on Sunday afternoons. In Germany, this sweet indulgence often follows a walk through the fields or forests, after having had Sunday lunch.
This will be a relaxed event, and we ask ticket holders to check in, choose their cake from our selection, and take a seat to be served their afternoon tea "Kaffee und Kuchen" at a long table. Suited to couples, singles and small groups of up to six.
