Day Four Projects Webinar
Collaboration for Health Equity: In Conversation with the Australian Global Health Alliance
Wednesday October 12th 2022
2pm-3pm (AEST)
You are invited to join us for this free webinar as part of our series, Collaboration for Systems Change. In this webinar, we will be in conversation with the Australian Global Health Alliance.
Formed in 2016, the Australian Global Health Alliance, cultivates a comprehensive perspective of the regional global health ecosystem and identifies non-traditional partnerships that individual organisations and institutions often can’t do. The Alliance exists to support the Australian global health community. Its aim is to deepen collaboration among the global health community, as well as promote and curate knowledge sharing. It is committed to shifting power and transforming global health to be equitable for all, advance health equity, sustainable development and health security.
As the peak body for Global Health in the region, the Alliance has deep partnerships with academia, government, private sector and not-for-profit organisations. The Alliance continues to support its members locally and globally through: convening actors and catalysing new partnerships, joint ventures and relationships; enhancing the capability and capacities of global health and development organisations in the region; and supporting the Alliance in collective efforts.Â
At this webinar, members of the Executive and Advisory Board of AGHA will be sharing their insights into why they established the Alliance and how it is working to affect systems change. As well, members of the Alliance will join the Executive to offer unique perspectives into how the collaboration is changing the global health landscape. Specifically:
We’ll explore:
- The unique challenges that the Australian Global Health Alliance has been formed to address
- What some of the systems level barriers are for those working in global health, and the ways the Alliance is seeking to affect these.
- The challenges and benefits of working as an Alliance, including at multiple levels and in multiple ways
