    Event description

This 1-day workshop gives students the time, space and guidance to explore and make a range of works co-created outdoors with and in nature. Students will learn about the lineage of Ephemeral Land Art, fractal patterns and nature geometry before being guided through a series of exploratory exercises and techniques to gain confidence in making site-specific artworks.

Shona will facilitate students to create individual self-directed works in response to the rich and regenerating rainforest environment around us at Foresthaven

Using only natural materials found on site and without any tools, students learn how to see and respond to any natural environment as a space for sensitive and creative play.

Encouraging creativity, sustainability and mindfulness, Shona’s process-orientated and exploratory methodology is a gentle and often surprising way for participants to become a bridge between art and nature. In light of recent natural disasters, the methodology and processes offered in this workshop can potentially segue into therapeutic tools for healing. It is Serious Fun!

Simple photography will be explored as a method for documentation, reflection and as artful image creation with the ephemeral works created.

All artworks will be left on site and participants will take home their writings, recordings and photographic images.
