Event description

Join us for a playful workshop of creative exploration through collage!

Collage & Coffee is an invitation to play without a destination in mind and enjoy the journey led by creative impulse. Turns out primary school art classes had something epic going on all along. Grab a big fat cuppa Joe, take a seat in the beautiful Ūkaipō space amongst new friends and let your inner child go nuts with the paper and scissors.

This 2-hour workshop includes:

  • A guided meditation to help move out of the thinking mind and into the realm of creative impulse
  • Two guided collage exercises
  • Free time to collage and create as you fancy
  • A cute little show n tell of what's been created during the workshop

And is created for anyone who:

  • Wants to invite the creative part of themselves to the helm
  • Wishes they could go back to primary school art class
  • Needs some digital respite
  • Is jonesing to create in analog like the good old days
  • Needs to balance out their consumption with creation
  • Wants to have a creative, fun, sweet and silly time
  • Has a 'pursuit of perfection' barrier to just getting started.

Hosted by me, Anna Birchall 💁‍♀️

I'm a Graphic Designer by trade. Reconnecting with the memory of my child self, who would spend every spare moment collaging, I've found collage to be hugely creatively generative, and a dream for tackling the fear of imperfection that can stop me from even starting. The joy and freedom I've discovered are the foundation of this humble and charming dream—to share collage (and coffee) in a workshop format.

8 seats available. All materials, coffee and snacks provided. Just bring yourself.

Every / any one welcome. No experience required, no one is “not creative enough”.
