College and Grad Student Learn to Ride - November 2026
Description
Want to learn to ride a bike? Let's go!
Join us at the free Bike Fun Learn to Ride class for college and graduate students & get started on a life on two wheels. We'll work on basic bicycle operation, balance, and control.
This class is designed for college and grad schools who have never pedaled without training wheels, or who have been away from bicycle riding for a very long time.
Bring a helmet, a snack, and some water. (We will have extra snacks and water.) Bike Fun has bicycles and helmets to use for students who need them. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Make sure to wear shoes that hold the heel in (no flip-flops or crocs). If you have your own bicycle, you may bring it for us to assess for size, functionality, etc.
This class for people who have never pedaled a bicycle and for people who need a refresher of bicycling basics. It will cover the following basics:
Getting onto the bike
Basic balance
Braking and stopping
Pedaling
Turning
Every human learns at their own rate at to their own ability, and we believe in incremental exposure over time. Some students may get up to two pedals and some may not - but EVERYONE will learn SOMETHING.
Bicycling is an amazing way to exercise and get around town. Don't be shy. Come learn how to ride in a safe and supportive environment! Bicycles and helmets can be provided.
