Join us for one or both of the colourful semantics workshops. Information about each workshop can be found below.

Workshop 1 ~ 9:30am until 11:30am (2 hours)
Colourful Semantics Introduction

Establish a clear understanding of Colourful Semantics- what it is, how it works, and how you can use it to target a wide range of goals. Discover practical activity ideas, engaging resources, and strategies to implement in your sessions.

This PD will cover:

• What Colourful Semantics is and the theory behind it

• How it can be used to support oral and written language development; specifically vocabulary and sentence structure

• Activity ideas for different ages and goals

• Resource suggestions to make implementation simple and effective
  

Workshop 2 ~ 12:30pm until 2:30pm (2 hours)
Colourful Semantics: Planning from P-6

Learn how to confidently plan and implement Colourful Semantics across Prep to Year 6. Explore strategies for using it in both small groups and whole-class settings, with a focus on building vocabulary, sentence structure, and oral language. Work alongside others to create planners during the session, and take away practical templates and examples that you can adapt to different year levels and abilities.

This PD will cover:

• How to implement Colourful Semantics in small groups and whole-class contexts

• Effective planning to target vocabulary, sentence structure, and oral language

• Hands-on creation of planners with access to ready-to-use templates and examples

• How to modify plans for different levels and learner needs
  

PD recording:
Both sessions will be recorded and the recording link accessible for 2 weeks. Recording of the session using your own device is strictly prohibited.

Attendance:
Attendees are welcome to join one or both of the sessions.
