Event description

Colours of Motherhood Relationships:  Overcoming sibling rivalry and peer conflict

Do your children compete or fight with each other, with their cousins, peers or friends? Does it break your heart or even make you mad? With the right support, sibling and peer rivalry provides your children with the opportunity to learn peaceful conflict resolution skills and to build loving relationships with family members and peers!  In this session, you’ll learn strategies to reduce sibling rivalry in your home and how to provide your children with life skills so they can get along with family, friends and peers.

Join Dr Rosina McAlpine, parenting and family wellbeing expert and creator of the Win Win Parenting program as she explores:

● Why sibling and peer relationships are so important.

●        Research findings on sibling and peer relationships.

●        Planning ahead for a new baby sibling to ease the transition.

●        Major changes when the baby arrives.

●        Combative and competitive relationships between siblings and peers.

●        Practical strategies for overcoming sibling and peer rivalry.

●        Question and answer throughout.

This event is designed for parents of children aged toddler to teenager. By attending this session, parents and carers will have a better understanding of sibling rivalry and peer conflict and ways to support their children to collaborate rather than compete and manage conflict more peacefully.

Book your ticket, see what other events we have coordinated, then share it to your friends! The group will be a maximum of 20 people, to ensure there is sufficient time for questions. You can submit an anonymous question when you book your ticket, and following the talk, Rosina will open for questions.

Included in your ticket: Photography Exhibition

Feel seen, and feel validated in your motherhood journey. This exhibition shares the stories of fifteen diverse mums, who have each contributed a story about a challenge they've experienced in motherhood. Rachel, from Scribbly Gum Photography has then created an unapologetic photo that represents their story.
