Combined Schools Flash Fiction Day
Event description
What makes for a great short story? In this intensive masterclass, students will be introduced to the various elements of characterisation, plot development and editing their work. Designed to extend gifted & talented writers in Stage 3, students are guided to write their own “flash fiction” with original characters, interesting narratives, and compelling endings. Led by the professional writers in the Story Hunter team, this workshop uses drama and play to promote creative ideation and joy in writing. Student work may also be entered for consideration into our next anthology or to be shared on the Story Hunter website.
We encourage schools to send a small group of up to 10 keen writers to this event, where they can meet likeminded peers from other schools. Students are required to be accompanied by a teacher (no charge for teachers) and supervised during breaks.
