Come & Try Ukrainian Folk Dancing – North Hobart, 12 July

This workshop will introduce you to Ukrainian folk dance — a joyful and energetic tradition with rich cultural roots. Dancers from Vesela Vesna, a Tasmanian-Ukrainian dance group, will guide you through the basics and get you moving in no time. After the workshop, we’re throwing a party!

Event details: 1.5-hour workshop from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM — stick around afterward for a party and more dancing! Everyone is welcome, no experience (or partner) needed.

All proceeds from this event will go to the Defend Ukraine Appeal – Australia’s largest community-led fundraiser providing non-lethal military aid to Ukraine. The Appeal supports the Ukrainian defence effort with essential equipment like drones, night vision devices, body armour, and other life-saving gear.

This event is hosted by The Movement and sponsored by the Old Nick Company. The Movement was created a group of friends passionate about creating a wholesome, inclusive, and body-positive space to learn to dance. Our classes are friendly, non-gendered, and fun.
