Travel instructions
🅿️Most accessible parking and transport to Sir Walters ♿ACROD accessible parking is available in Car Park 4 (at the top of the hill) 🚙 A paved pathway leads from Car Park 4 to the venue (Building 425). If you are coming from the bottom of the hill there will be a staircase that you need to traverse to get to level that Sir Walter's is on. There is a lift that can be accessed from building XXX to the right of the staircase on your left as you enter through the glass doors.
Entry instructions
🧭Sir Walter’s Restaurant is located on Level 2 of Building 425. If arriving from Car Park 4 Follow the brick path towards bush court, travel for roughly 30 meters towards the grassed area, and turn left before reaching the grass. The building next to the stairs is Sir Walter’s. Enter the building on your left, which should be 425. Travel straight past the elevator, and the next room will be Sir Walter’s cafe. If already inside Building 425: o Follow signage to Level 2. O Sir Walter’s overlooks the central garden area (Winter Garden).
After entry instructions
There will be a table reserved for the event, feel free to say hi and take a seat. If you have troubles finding the table, please ask at the counter and staff will direct you to the table.
Hazards
As a restaurant/cafe depending on the time of day there may be elevated noise with many people speaking. Consider bringing noise cancelling headphones to reduce any potential sensory impact.
Toilet location
🚽Accessible and gender-neutral toilets are available on the ground floor of Building 425. Additional accessible toilets are nearby in Building 430 (the Student Hub), around 50 metres away via a level path. (Please do not hesitate to ask for toilet directions on the day)

Closest accessible (ACROD) parking ACROD CP4 Accessible Bays available at the top and bottom of the hill.
🕒 Event Timing
Staff will be around from 10 am at the reserved table The event runs from 10:30-11:30. Come and go whenever you like – stay for 5 minutes or the full hour. If you would like to come early you are more than welcome to come early.
🍽️ Food & Drinks
Food will be on the table – help yourself. Labels like “gluten free” will be used for dietary needs. Order drinks at the counter using the table number. A staff member will introduce themself and are available to help order drinks please feel free to ask.
🌿 Sensory info
The noise volume in the space can vary depending on the day. The venue is a relaxed sit-down setting, and while the room is air-conditioned its effectiveness can vary depending on the amount of people present, and the temperature of the day. The best place to seat for those who find the lighting to be too bright is on the ends of the table. If you need a sensory break, there is a sensory room located in 460.1.014. Hands-on activities will be available, please request in the checkout questions. Feel free to bring stim tools, earplugs, or anything that helps you feel comfortable. There are many exit points which leads to outside areas to take a break anytime. Ask staff for directions if needed.
👋 What to Expect
A casual space with students and staff. There is no need or expectation to be formal. Light conversation is common, but no pressure to talk. You’re welcome to observe, communicate in different ways, or just be yourself. This is a safe and inclusive space and everyone is respected and accepted as they are.
