Come or Go? - Still life oil painting workshop with Dr Katia Strounina

Coming up at Petrie Terrace Gallery in June, Dr Katia Strounina will be running Come or Go? - Still life oil painting workshop.
For this workshop attendees will be painting a still life with a suitcase and a bunch of sunflowers. However, there is a twist: students must convey one of three scenarios via the means of composition and colour scheme. Katia will provide explanation and cues of possible solutions. This workshop will also be focused on fast alla prima painting.
When: Saturday, 14th of June, 10am - 2:30pm

Location: RQAS Petrie Terrace Gallery, Upstairs studio gallery (unit 3/162 Petrie Terrace, Brisbane)
This course is suitable for people who are beginners to intermediate - attendees who have some experience, but are looking to improve their skills further. Make sure to purchase tickets soon as spaces are limited!
Materials:
- The tutor will provide all Gessoed boards (40x50cm), oil paints, brushes and all required sundries.
- If you have your favourite brushes or paints, please bring them.
- As you will be carrying a wet canvas, have some means to carry it around and to protect your car.
Tutor bio
Dr Katia Strounina is an award-winning Brisbane artist and member of the RQAS Brisbane Branch. She trained at Art college in Russia and later advanced her skills by taking lessons in the Brisbane Atelier (Nick Leavey) and from several notable Australian artists. Katia paints in representational style. Her works have won multiple prizes in Brisbane art shows.
**Please Note** This workshop will be held in the upstairs studio gallery which is only accessible via a flight of stairs.
