Come to Dinner - Welcome to Alice!
Description
Relocating for work is about much more than starting a new job, it's about embracing change and starting a new life. Come to Dinner gives employers a simple and meaningful way to welcome new workers, recognise the significant move they have made, and help them feel valued from day one. For those employees and business owners new to the region, this is your opportunity to start to connect locally.
You are invited to a casual and enjoyable barbecue dinner;
for Employers, this is a simple but powerful way to show that your support extends beyond the workplace
for Employees, Business Owners and your partners new to Alice Springs and Central Australia, come along to meet other newcomers, build local connections, find out local information and start feeling at home
This special event celebrates one year of quarterly Come to Dinner events, made possible by the support of the Mparntwe Alice Springs Community Foundation and a dedicated Come to Dinner Team, all of whom have relocated to Alice Springs from other parts of Australia and the world. Having experienced relocation ourselves, we understand what it feels like to be new and are committed to helping others settle, connect and belong.
This Come to Dinner is also listed as an October Business Month event through the Northern Territory Government - with a theme of Embracing Change, workforce attraction and retention is key. Come to Dinner has a purpose of both community connection as well as to support both workforce and population retention.
This event will be held at Yaye's Cafe (note change of venue), with the support of Yaye's Cafe, the Alice Springs Rotary Club and Araluen Arts Centre.
The ticket price covers the cost of a barbecue meal (meat and vegan options), and event activities.
Alcoholic, non-alcoholic and soft drinks, tea and coffee will be available for purchase on the night.
