Miram Lieberman Trio Miriam Lieberman’s Trio features long-time collaborators Lara Goodridge (FourPlay, Baby et Lulu) and Susie Bishop, whose lush strings and vocal harmonies elevate Miriam’s kora-led, contemporary folk songs into soaring soundscapes. The Trio’s 2021 release Just Transforming was named one of The Guardian’s ‘Top Ten Albums of the Year.’ Drawing on her time studying in West Africa, Miriam’s music is known for its powerful melodies, feminine lyrical perspective, and rhythmic richness. Miriam has toured nationally and internationally. “All lilting folk tunes overlaid with sprightly Kora (West African harp), playful strings and dreamy three-part harmonies as though Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon had convened in a Bamako back street.” The Guardian “Her songs are beautifully melodic, richly textured but can have pointed themes. Simply brilliant.” The Age, 4 stars If you are unable to join us, please consider making a donation and investing in education that is the foundation of a more inclusive and peaceful Australia.
