Headliner Robert ‘Doc’ Barham has been writing and performing comedy since 1984. As a boy his father told jokes every night at the dinner table. Doc remembered all the jokes, collected them together into his first set and then told them to his elementary school friends and anyone else who would listen. He made his official start in comedy by producing a weekly stand comedy show while majoring in theatre arts at the school of performing arts at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia. The comedy show was a success and in its second year relocated to another venue adjacent to the campus and added comedyshows and nights, eventually bringing in stand up comedians who are now known as some of the biggest names in comedy. At the same time, he was also host and DJ of his own music radio show at the university radio station WUVT FM.While still in college, Doc was invited to open for Ellen Degeneres at an on campus taping of HBO’s Comic Relief. Soon after he decided to make a career of it and become a professional stand up comedian. After finishing school, he returned his home to Northern Virginia and began touring and performing at comedy clubs, colleges and companies around the United States and Canada.Later, after receiving an invitation from friends who were also professional comedians and had moved from the Washington DC area to the Bay area, Doc relocated to Haight Ashbury in San Francisco. His agent helped land him an audition at at the Melrose Improv in Hollywood which won him a spot at the New Faces Of Comedy at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal Canada. While on tour, he recorded a live sold out show at the Funnybone in Boise, Idaho which led to the release of his first stand up comedy album, Global Village Idiot. In 2001, he moved to Los Angeles and continued performing, and in 2016, he moved back to the Northern Virginia area.He has performed on TV on Comedy Central’s Two Drink Minimum in New York City with host Jake Johansson and comedians Mark Maron and Dave Atell, Night Shift With Kevin Ferguson, and Comedy At Club 54 in Canada. He has also appeared in the media on The History Channel’s Ancient Aliens, PBS’ American Health Journal, Spike TV’s 1000 Ways To Die, The Bob and Tom Show, Big Biz Radio, Zo What? Show, Business Rockstars, Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Success Magazine, Business Insider, Fast Company, Psychology Today, and Huffington Post.Currently, he hosts a radio show American Dreamtime.
