Comedy at the Grand
Event description
We are excited to announce our Comedy at the Grand show, at the historic Grand Theatre in Crookston, MN, on Saturday, October 26, at 7:30pm. Our show features the return of two performers both born and raised in Crookston.
Headliner Ali Hormann (Crookston High School 2002) is a regular at Acme Comedy Company, The Comedy Room at Sisyphus, and Camp Bar in the Twin Cities. She is the co-producer for Don't Tell Comedy in Minneapolis and St. Paul. She was was first runner up at the House of Comedy funniest person contest on 2021 and a finalist for Acme’s funniest person in 2021. She gets most of her jokes from her three kids.
Our feature act is Steve Windels (CHS 1991) is a professional wildlife biologist by day, stand-up comedian by night who gives a unique perspective on not just the mysteries of the animal kingdom but life in general as a middle-aged divorced dad trying to figure out where he fits on this goofy planet. He is also an actual expert on beaver biology, aka The Beaver Doctor, but he doesn’t think your little jokes are funny and he doesn’t want to talk about it so quit asking. Before moving to the Twin Cities, he lived in the famed “Icebox of the Nation” International Falls, MN for 21 years, where he kept his two daughters mostly safe from frostbite and random bear attacks.
This historic comedy event is hosted by Justin Neal, aka funny_juddy. Bringing his unique brand of humor to the good folks of Minnesota and Wisconsin, funny_juddy's comedy delves into the relatable struggles of remote work, the quirks of married life, and the interesting experience of being born in the 1900s.
