    Event description

16th of June is an important day for all Iranian patriots who are fighting against a brutal regime in Iran to get back their homeland.

Majid-reza Rahnavard born on June 16, 1999 was the first person executed in public for charges stemming from his involvement in the Mahsa Amini protests well called later as the national revolution in Iran. He was executed only 23 days after his arrest.

He had a symbol of the national Iranian flag (Lion and Sun) tattoo on his arm and because of that, the jailers had broken that arm before his execution showing to the public that any Iranian national symbol won't be tolerated by the Islamic regime. Thereafter many Iranian activists inside and abroad have called 16th of June as the national day of Lion and Sun.

We as the Iranian diaspora in Sydney will commemorate Majid-reza Rahnavard and all our heroes who bravely lost their lives for freedom and democracy in Iran.

We shall be pleased to have all freedom and democracy are their concern especially our jewish friends.

    Long live Iran.

    Am Yisrael Chai.
