Subscription for: CELEBRATION: Fanfares, Awe, and Passion
Event description
With our 50th anniversary season, we celebrate, inspire spiritual reflection, and end with a vibrant Latin American program. In November, Daniel Pinkham’s jubilant Christmas Cantata, with lively brass, headlines the concert. Lili Boulanger’s Psalm 24 celebrates devotion and her serene Old Buddhist Prayer expresses universal hope. Flor Peeters’ stirring Magnificat, inspired by Mary’s Song, is a powerful affirmation of faith and optimism.
March brings Mozart’s Requiem in a new critically acclaimed edition by Howard Arman, paired with two stirring psalm settings by Brazilian composer Nunes Garcia—highlighting themes of mercy, judgment, and eternal rest.
We end in May with a bold Latin American program: Palmeri’s electrifying Misatango pulses with tango rhythms and passion, while Ginastera’s Lamentations evokes spiritual exile and sorrow. Dancers and a tango ensemble add visual and musical fire, concluding a season rich in reflection, intensity, and jubilant expression.
