Commune Sound
Description
Commune Sound returns to St Brigid's Hall for two hours of ecstatic dance, somatic movement and immersive electronic sound.
At Commune Sound, we see dance as a moving meditation. As we settle into the rhythm, our attention shifts out of our thoughts and into the body. The mind gets quieter and we become more present with the sound, the movement and the people around us.
We create a space where the dancefloor is the focus. There is no choreography and no pressure to perform. We can move hard, slow down, pause and listen, then return when the music draws us back in. We keep the floor free from phones, shoes and conversation so we can stay present with the experience.
We believe we don't need alcohol to reach that feeling. Music and movement have their own natural intensity. As our bodies release endorphins and the energy in the room builds, we feel lighter, clearer and more alive. For us, Commune Sound is about appreciating sound in detail, feeling rhythm move through the body and sharing that energy with others.
Nothing added except music, movement and humans.
